Удивительно, но у меня, вроде бы, только что получилось заменить бег на шаг. Я раньше это пробовал, но не получалось, насколько я помню. Зашёл (в ВиМ battle) в animations > battleconfiguration > musket_fragment.
и сделал следующее: вторую колонку взял из WALK_TRAINED и последовательно заменил всю анимацию. В результате пехота регулярная не бегает - бегают только "знаменная группа", но их отдельно менять надо.

Правда, я смотрю, местами недоглядел и оставил Jog (т.е. бег трусцой), но его тоже можно заменить.
Правда, отступают они тоже шагом - если это команда игрока, то ничего, а вот когда они должны бежать разбитыми, то неувязочка. Найти бы, где прописывается анимация по отдельным процессам: построение в каре, отступление, бег, атака и пр.
