Extended Spartan Mod is a mod set at the beginning of Pyrrhic Wars until the death of Marcus Aurelius 180 AD, with historical reform mechanics for units, Buildings and improved economy, as well as having a completely new combat system balanced and proven, and having a lot of new historically correct units, plus unique buildings for each faction.
This is the Sparta reform system:
At first, Sparta starts with the best hoplites in the world, but is short on cavalry and has some missiles.
As the campaign progresses there will be an event which will be the Cleomenes reforms,
the Cleomenes reforms adopt the Macedonian combat tactic with the use of pikes and heavy cavalry.
(The reforms are from 230BC):
They will also have the Agoge as the only building in Sparta so that the Hilotas are controlled and the troops well trained.
Then the latest reforms will come, those of Nabis. Nabis frees the helots and so if he had an army with archers or peltast helots,
he can no longer resupply them, so they will no longer be used. but in return,
(The reforms are from 205BC):
The Spartans will improve their combat tactics and use the Roman style with sword fighting.
It should be said that the reforms are automatic and will be presented in said historical period.
As I said before Sparta starts with the best Hoplites in the game, as well as good light infantry and competent hoplites,
but is weak in cavalry and somewhat poor in missiles, Here the tier 1 roster:
